The Sound Behind ANGY
A Journey Through Music, Soul and Self-Expression
ANGY ‐ Independent Singer & Songwriter
ANGY is an independent singer and songwriter from Mauritius, with Rodriguan and Malagasy roots. Raised in a musical family, she discovered her passion for singing at an early age.
Her talent gained recognition in Mauritius through a viral cover of Rihanna’s Love on the Brain. In 2019, she received opportunities through The Voice Mauritius / France to pursue opportunities in France. That same year, her musical journey reached another milestone when she performed at the We Love Pop 3 festival, organised by Holdem Events at Gros Cailloux, Mauritius, on June 28. Sharing the stage with internationally acclaimed Jamaican reggae artist Etana and several established Mauritian artists was an important experience in her development as a performer.
Her journey also brought her into contact with music industry professionals, including DJ Assad, who introduced her to Holdem Studio and connected her with Greg Parys for a project intended for Scorpio Music.î Four tracks reached the pre-production stage. She also received approaches from several European producers, choosing to follow her own direction.
Today, ANGY continues to develop her identity as an independent artist, exploring a musical universe that blends soul, R&B, Afro influences, rock, and electronic sounds. Her approach to music is driven by experimentation, emotional depth, and artistic freedom.
Through her music, ANGY seeks to push beyond conventional genres and create a sound that reflects her own experiences, imagination, and evolving artistic vision. Her journey is one of independence, exploration, and a lifelong connection to music.
New music is coming soon. In the meantime, check out the latest tracks, or sign up to the mailing list to hear things first.
